Some shots I love just for their textures – I think in an urban context they say much more then anything else.
Metal,Plaster and paint

The canon was shipped 7 days ago – It should be here any day – I hope it didn’t get lost in the mail or customs ate it or something(I was to cheap to pay insurance – canadian post is pricy).
I tried scanning some color film and couldn’t get the colors right.Argh. I get good BW and the ocasional good color but sometimes getting bearable colors is a struggle.
Now to the small bird(who said that it got something stuck to it’s butt):

I got bored with the San Francisco photos I was working on so I decided to scan some of the color stuff (that I accumulated over the last 5-6 months).
The shots were taken on Fuji Proplus II iso 100 photos underexposed by 3-4 stops at least! I used photoshop and neat image(on one of them) to get rid of some noise. All were taken with the nikon fm2n with 50/1.4 or 28/1.8(leats likely). The guard of the orthodox patriarch. This chrisitan Arab Gentleman is a living anachronism. In the days of the Othoman Empire important people were assigned armed(richly garbed) guards to walk in front of them and announce their coming by hitting the ground with their staves. With time , the Turks outlawed civilian arms and only the staves remained.
The rich garb became a dark suit and a fez hat.
