Closed a deal on a canon 35/2.8.Waiting for it to arrive(with the canon 50/1.8)
Got an Olympus Pen F which needs slight repair from a gentleman on RFF. These people just bough a guy in Serbia(?) a bessa R3A(?) – the members collected about 40% and Stephen Gandy added the rest. Someone also donated him an M CV lens. Great people.

shutters

This is a window shutter(blind?).
I love the peeling paint. Tel Aviv,Nikon fm2n,Sigma28/1.8,plusX.

My dead computer I sent to the lab – hope they find something and not charge me for work and say it’s a software problem(highly doubt it). I potentially found a canon 35/2.8 for my RF. still waiting for the canon 50/1.8. I don’t want to use the Jupiter on it – but I really want to shoot it allready.

Of Mechanical and Electronic cameras.

I hear some people say that electronic cameras are more precise and mechanical ones more reliable.

From my experience a 30 year old Pentax K1000 works and a 20 year old Minolta x-300 doesn’t. My 20 year old Nikon fm2n never skipped a beat and the same age much more proffessional F3 died with no apparent reason(a couple of years after CLA). I’ve seen electronic P&S fail after 10 years and others work after 15. I used a canonet and it was very reliable. On the other hand a Nikon FG I used some works worse then the electro-plasticky N2000 about it’s age.

I had seen Zenits die and had a Praktica die on me. I used a ’58 Zorki 4 which worked like a clock. I sold it and got a canon 7 the same age. I think a leica M2 would outlast the M7 with it’s 50 years of headstart.

I just seem to trust the mechanical ones more after all.

A very sturdy piece of mechanical ingenuity

Canon 7 is here!

I got the Canon 7 from Peterc from RFF. He was kind and threw in a 1962 jupiter 8 with a japanese 1A filter and a roll of maco 64c film and thats after giving me a great deal on the camera itself.
Tom_F77 has sent me a canon 50/1.8 and I am in the market for a cheap 35(canon 35/2.8 or CV 35/2.5 – wanna sell me one?)

I am again – “with rangefinder”.

America I’ve given you all and now I’m nothing.
America two dollars and twentyseven cents January 17, 1956.
I can’t stand my own mind.
America when will we end the human war?
Go fuck yourself with your atom bomb. . . .
America when will you be angelic?

When will you take off your clothes? . . .
America why are your libraries full of tears?
America when will you send your eggs to India?
I’m sick of your insane demands. When can I go into the supermarket and buy what I need with my good looks? . . . ” — Allen Ginzberg, America, 1956(entire_poem)
